| There are hundreds of chairs that claim to be "ideal" for home theaters. However, all of these chairs have one thing in common. They used our model as their architectural example. When Radio City closed for its first major renovation in February of 1999, we were able to rescue a limited number of these chairs and are able to offer them to you today. The chairs reflect a spellbinding presence of architect Donald Deskey's timeless work. Delicately sculpted cast iron bases with red velvet upholstery, marked the beginnings of a theater trend that swept the nation and eventually the world.
From these very seats audiences gazed at stars like Gregory Peck, Elizabeth Taylor, Katherine Hepburn, and Cary Grant. Rockettes would read playbills and anxiously await their chance to capture the world's heart. Radio City was a catalyst that helped popularize award ceremonies from the Grammy's to the ESPY's. It was here that eager fans grasped their ticket stubs and made their way to these very seats.
